Analysis of the decays of the B-meson pointed to a possible fifth interaction

An analysis carried out by the LHCb collaboration confirmed the previously found violation of lepton invariance in B-meson decays. The lepton invariance follows from the Standard Model, so the discovery of its violation points to the incompleteness of our understanding of particle physics. The simplest explanation for this violation is the existence of the fifth fundamental interaction.
